Canvas Teacher Release Notes (Android 1.31)

In Canvas Teacher 1.31, the Calendar feature is available for instructors.

Canvas Android app version updates are distributed in a phased rollout, which distributes the update to all users over time. The features in these notes may not immediately be available as an update in the Play Store. The Canvas Teacher Android App requires Android 8.0 or later.

Calendar

Calendar Available

In the Teacher app, the Calendar feature is available. Instructors can view, create, edit, and delete Calendar events.

Teacher Dashboard Calendar Icon

To open the Calendar, tap the Calendar icon.

Calendar Month View

In the Calendar, instructors can view daily events and To Do items.

Calendars Link

To manage all calendars, tap the Calendar link.

Deselect All Link

Instructors can manage which courses display in the calendar by selecting or deselecting the checkboxes. Additionally, a Deselect all link is available.

Add Event Icon

To Create an Event or To Do List item, tap the Add icon.

Add Event Page

To add an event, complete the desired fields.

Note: This logic and behavior are identical to those of the desktop Create Event logic.

Add To Do Page

To add a To Do item, enter the desired fields.

Note: The Calendar To Do is created for teachers only, it is not visible for other users or any other device.

Edit Event Options Icon

To modify an existing event or To Do item, tap the Options icon [1], then select Edit [2] or Delete [3].

Edit Event PageWhen editing an event or To Do item, update the desired information and then tap the Save link.
