Canvas Student Release Notes (iOS 7.12)
Canvas iOS app version updates are distributed in a phased rollout, which distributes the update to all users enrolled in automatic updates over time. The features in these notes may not immediately be available, but iOS users can manually update the app at any time in the App Store. The Canvas Student iOS App requires iOS 16.0 or later.
Student App Updates
- Discussions and announcements (in student groups) can be created from the mobile app.
- New Quizzes navigation is improved.
- User experience is unified across various filter and preferences screens.
- Assignment list and assignment list preferences screens are enhanced.
- Smart Search screens are refined.
- Accessibility is improved across multiple screens.
- Resolved an issue that caused the grade list to become unresponsive sometimes.
- Addressed a problem where the grade list screen did not show total grades for concluded enrollments.
- Improved the grade list preferences screen to properly display grading periods.
- Resolved an issue where course files did not appear in some cases.
- Addressed a problem where the course home front page was not visible in certain situations.
- Ensured external tool links remain active when expected.
- Resolved an issue where groups from unpublished courses appeared on the All Courses screen.
- Dashboard navigation bar works on iPads running iOS 18.
