Hi Fellow Admins,

Hope you are all making though this crisis. Have any of you come across this when using Respondus Lockdown Browser.

I have been able to hack the browser and allow it to open new tabs.

The vendor is blaming it on Slow Internet.

Thank you

Hi

Thanks for sharing this - here's my results from a (very) quick check.

I couldn't replicate this in Windows at all - any link I tried wouldnt open for me.

On my Mac I could indeed put a link in the RCE and click it but I couldn't actually follow any links or click out from that page.

ie. in your example of linking to a Google page, I couldnt actually perform a search because I got 'link blocked'

Once I'd done this a couple of times I could no longer even follow links.

Very interested to hear other people's experience

GCC have laptops for part-time. Any special other hardware you need? would like to know if they can support faculty once we go online?.

Thanks Rich,

I can get this break and be able to search for websites. Wonder why you are getting different results. Are you using the latest version for students?

Supposedly Respondus fixed this. The following is in reference to the Mac lockdown browser:

"We blocked the essay editor's insert link button in version 2.0.7.03.
We are not able to replicate the problem when using the latest version."

I was still able to type www.google.com and then open it in a new tab but it appears that the search results page is blocked so you cannot get past that.
