The ultimate goal of this tool is to address many of the concerns raised about the current attendance tracking options in Canvas, all without requiring any special administrator permissions.

Right now, it allows you to easily record attendance with four options: Present, Absent, Late, and Excused. I've designed it to be more user-friendly and streamlined compared to existing tools, and I hope it will make your attendance tracking more efficient and enjoyable. My upcoming feature will give you the option to create an assignment that uses the attendance data as the grade.

I’m releasing this tool in its early stages to gauge interest and gather feedback, and I’d love to hear from you! The more interest and feedback I receive, the more I’ll focus on enhancing it. The goal is to have a fully functioning attendance tool with all of the features to make attendance taking as easy as possible. And I am excited to partner with the members of the forum here to help me through the process of making this as great a product as it can be.
