Canvas allows instructors to select a premade grading schema, or create their own. However, if an instructor wants to share this schema with their students, they must take a manual step such as copying and pasting the schema into the syllabus. If an instructor modifies their schema in the course settings, they must then remember to also manually update the schema in the syllabus. If they neglect to do this, they open themselves up to tricky grading disputes.
If an instructors has set a grading schema for a course, it should automatically be displayed on the syllabus page alongside the other static content there such as assignments and calendar events.
