[Studio] Tools During Recording

Problem statement:

Teachers are reluctant to switch to Studio because of the simplistic format. Professors want to blur their backgrounds when recording lectures. They would also like to have more editing tools. Currently, they must use the Chrome browser and choose screencast-o-matic from the "Create" options to have any tools. There they have options to draw, highlight, and zoom during recording and cut/trim after recording. Many teachers never see those options because they use a different browser, and choosing "Capture" in Studio offers no tools during recording.

Proposed solution:

Teachers would like to have the ability to blur the background and draw, highlight, and zoom while recording on any browser. They also want the option to cut, trim, and speed up sections of the video after recording it. Our faculty use would increase if tools were available in other browsers and if background blur were an option.

Allow an option to add or blur the background in a Studio video recording to eliminate the need for a third-party app.

Proposed solution:

See above. The Why" is that it saves the instructor time and allows the recording to look professional if not recorded in the office. If I'm in my bedroom office, I can't record because having that background is inappropriate. Moreover, I shouldn't have to get another app to edit with. Providing at least a "blur" option would be helpful. These options are basic in several other recording tools. Thank you.

Problem statement:

While posting video feedback our instructors have requested that they have the ability to blur their background. Adding a virtual background or a blurred background while recording directly in Studio would be a valuable tool. You are also not able to pick one of your Studio videos for your feedback in assignments for students currently. You can choose to either record a video or choose a file that you have already made.

Proposed solution:

Add the ability to choose a virtual or blurred background when recording videos in Studio. Also add the feature to choose one of your Studio videos for video feedback on an assignment. These features would allow instructors to use Studio exclusively instead of using another tool like Zoom to have their background blurred. Instructors would also not have to download their videos to be able to use them for feedback if they were uploaded or recorded in Studio previously.
