[Studio] Limit Studio usage quota per user

Problem statement:

We have a student who singlehandedly occupied 4TB of or 10% of our institutional Studio Storage. Given that we have 40,000 users, it will only take a handful of uses to max out our 40TB institutional storage.

Proposed solution:

Like the account quota settings of Canvas, there should be a separate user quota setting for Studio. One for students, one for teachers. So teachers can be given higher quota.

Thank you for posting this idea.

While hard-limiting quota per user seems to be a technical solution for this issue, it may also lead to undesired situations where the seemingly working one-size-fits-all approach may need further granularity control in the future (e.g. per teacher, student). 

Instead, I would recommend the following 

• Take a look at the student's media library. Are those all valid videos? Since this is unusual, are you expecting to see this from other students as well? In the past, there were cases where one or more students used up significantly higher volume of storage compared to the rest of them and some digging revealed the reason for those one-off cases.
• In this quarter, we will deliver a new admin media management dashboard. That will help you have a holistic view on the used storage. In Q2 you'll be able to manage it directly from that interface. This will give you controls over managing storage.
• We recently had a reduction in additional Studio storage pricing. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager if that is an option, and you expect that additional storage will be needed in the future.

Thank you for looking into this suggestion and the recommendations. 

Yes we have looked into the videos and discovered that some are not necessarily academic related, but that's more of a corrective action. It would be best to have a preventive solution on this.
