When releasing grades to students, sometimes a student may be under review for academic misconduct. This means despite being graded and feedback provided there is no easy way to exclude them from grades being released/
For the grades to be visible to Teachers but invisible to Students so they can’t see their grades within Canvas [including the app] and invisible to grade transfer software looking for a value [classified as a non-grade entry, not zero just no grade] It would fit well within the Gradebook status field: https://media.screensteps.com/image_assets/assets/001/245/423/original/13c2e233-f62b-4256-9d41-3b816... Have a status of "On Hold". This would prevent the student from seeing their grades and feedback.
