[Rubrics] Ranges - clear separation of the cusp flanks
Problem statement:
In rubrics, the ranges for each criterion as set as (for example): 25 to >19.9 Pts, 19.9 to >17.4 Pts, 17.4 to >14.9 Pts, 14.9 to >12.4 Pts, 12.4 to >9.9 Pts, and 9.9 to >0. As you can see, the higher point of each performance level matches exactly the lowest point of the next higher performance level. For us, not only is this potentially confusing for students but also inaccurate since we map our rubric performance levels to university standard grade levels.
Proposed solution:
Please allow us to set rubric ranges like: 25 to ≥ 20 Pts, 19.9 to ≥17.5 Pts, 17.4 to ≥15 Pts, 14.9 to ≥12.5 Pts, 12.4 to ≥10 Pts, and 9.9 to >0 ... OR ... 25 to ≥ 20 Pts, <20 to ≥17.5 Pts, <17.5 to ≥15 Pts, <15 to ≥12.5 Pts, <12.5 to ≥10 Pts, and <10 to >0.
