[Rubrics] Multi-line criterion descriptions in Enhanced Rubrics

Problem statement:

While enhanced rubrics provide better features in terms of usability and editing, they lack the feature of traditional rubrics to allow multi-line criterion entry. This is a major loss in functionality for instructors that wish to create rubrics that include comprehensive descriptions of criteria.

Proposed solution:

Enhanced rubrics should be updated to match the capabilities of traditional rubrics in that criterion descriptions should allow for lists and multiple lines of text. This should include an addition of a multi-line text box in the user interface, or at a minimum the ability to enter new line characters in the rubric criterion description field. This allows for a comprehensive description of the rubric criterion.

User role(s):

instructor

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback as an Idea in the Community!

For consistency, the Community Team asks all comments, questions, and requests related to the Enhanced Rubrics to be directed to the Enhanced Rubrics User Group. Other early adopters share their experiences, and Instructure Product Managers actively monitor that space. I hope you can connect and collaborate with others in that user group.
