[Notifications] Reported Reply for Discussions Redesign

Idea is currently in development

Problem statement:

On a course "Home" page, there is a "View Course Notifications" button on the right side of the page. When you click on this button, underneath the "Discussions" heading is a row for "Reported Reply". This notification is for when discussion replies are reported for being inappropriate, offensive, etc. in the Discussions Redesign. However, if I were go to my "Account" >> "Notifications" screen, and then select the same course I was just in from the "Settings for" drop-down list, the row for "Reported Reply" is not displayed under the "Discussions" heading. Even though the URLs are similar (but not identical) for both "Notifications" screens, the settings should be the same.

Proposed solution:

The "Reported Reply" Discussion Notification is on this page: https://SchoolName.instructure.com/courses/12345?view=notifications The "Reported Reply" Discussion Notification is not on this page (specifically when you choose a course from the "Settings for" drop-down list. https://SchoolName.instructure.com/profile/communication Please add the "Reported Reply" (for Discussions Redesign) option to the "Account" >> "Notifications" screen as well (specifically for the individual courses listed in the "Settings for" drop-down list).

Problem statement:

Currently, the only way for a teacher or TA to be notified of reported replies in discussions is by enabling the feature in 'Course Notifications'. However, there may be cases in which a faculty member forgets or doesn't know to enable this notification.

Proposed solution:

We would like to request a dashboard that will easily display all of the reported discussion replies to a teacher or TA for the course, or otherwise an automatic way to get notified of reported replies rather than relying on the faculty to take action to get these notifications.

Hi @ambaumga - Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback as an Idea in the Community!

For consistency, the Community Team asks all comments, questions, and requests related to the Discussions/Announcements REdesign to be directed to the Users Group. Other early adopters share their experiences, and Instructure Product Managers actively monitor that space. I hope you can connect and collaborate with others there! This thread has been archived to streamline our Ideas space and prevent duplicate conversations.
