The only way to create a multi-part questions is by using a stimulus with instructions saying to use part a to answer part b. However, in ELA, we often have a text (short story, article, etc). This means we have to choose between attaching the questions to the text or having multi-part questions.
There should be a way to create multi-part questions independently from using a stimulus. That way we could have a multi-part question (see below example) attached to a text stimulus. Part A: What is a possible theme of the short story? Part B: Which excerpt from the text BEST supports that theme?
