[New Quizzes] Restriction to open tab or other desktop
This is for our learners who are taking quizzes or assessments. Nowadays, students have fast hands and know a lot of keyboard shortcuts. There are times that during assessment or a quiz students are tempted to open, search or even ask AI for answers for the assessment. It is good that in our Canvas quizzes, we can see the log if a student opens a tab or opens a desktop to search for answers during an assessment, but the incident or dishonesty happens already and formative measures will be implemented. But if we can take a measure to avoid the incident from the very first time before it happens that would be even better.
During assessment, when a student started a quiz, the system will only allow that page as the open page or tab. A system will monitor that if the student opens a tab or opens another desktop in his device, the quiz tab will warn him at first that he is being monitored. For the second attempt or incident of such, the quiz tab will be closed and a notification will be sent to the student and the teacher. Processing of such will be done based on the school's policy of handling such cases. The teacher has the authority to give access after processing the behavior. It would be better if the notification will be realtime, meaning if the incident happens a notif will be sent immediately to the teacher and the teacher can talk to the student to hear the student's side. In this manner, the student was given a chance to explain his or her side about the incident.
