We like that instructors can submit on behalf of students, but occasionally they submit to the wrong student. We do not want instructors to be able to delete submissions made BY students, but if they could delete submissions they make ON BEHALF of a student that would be helpful and prevent needing admin tickets to resolve. Case: Instructor is given a student's document outside of Canvas (via email or sharing). Usually this is occurring because student is experiencing submitting assignment. Instructor wants document inside of Canvas for grading. Instructor goes to student assignment detail page from gradebook to submit assignment, and chooses "Submit for Student" but choses the wrong file. When the instructor goes to speedgrader and realizes the mistake there is no way for them to remove the file without a support ticket to admin.
To minimize need for admin involvement (and potential time delay, esp. for FERPA, HIPPA and integrity issues) for file upload mistakes by instructors, it would be helpful if they could delete files that they upload. Errors might be minimized if Student name were included upload pop-out.
