Having to open a side-panel to mark work late when it's a paper assignment is a really big hassle (especially when you have over 200 students at a high school level). Trying to flick through to find the right student and open a separate panel to mark it late usually results in me putting off grading entirely.
I think it would be great to have a toggle in the gradebook that teachers could click and say they are grading late work. It could automatically apply a determined late work policy, just like it can auto apply for online submissions. It would be even better if it had a "days late" option that came up when the toggle was clicked on, so we could grade everything that was submitted on a certain day, but just having a toggle would open a lot of doors to make grading much easier.
