Problem statement:
We want to make a specific LTI tool that is transcending courses available to only students, or only instructors. Currently, this is only possible by adding this tool to the global navigation menu, for example, and then using custom JavaScript to hide it from the non-desirable targeted groups.
Proposed solution:
The help link menu in the global navigation menu already offers the option to make a hyperlink visible to specific audiences only. Extending this functionality with an LTI launch option would be a godsend for us. An alternative would be to add to Global Navigation's placement settings the option to make the link visible to specific roles only.
