Course Access Report Needs to Show New Quiz Submissions

Problem statement:

The course access report does not show when a new quiz is submitted.

Proposed solution:

With 59% to 68% of college students admitting to cheating in some form, maintaining academic integrity in online courses is more important than ever. Canvas’s course access report can be a valuable tool in detecting and preventing cheating in distance education.

However to be effective, the report should include submission dates for new quizzes.

Hi @spipitone -

Thank you for taking the time to submit these ideas! To better help the process, please separate these into two threads. One will focus on the need to know when a new quiz is submitted and the other will focus on the need to know the date when a student first accesses an item.

You can edit this thread to focus on one, and then you can create another idea to focus on the other.

Thank you for your partnership! Separating these ideas into individual threads will help the Product Team match the request to future projects. What are the guidelines for submitting a new idea?

Hi Kristin,

I understand the suggestion to separate the ideas into two threads; however, the course access report contains both items, and it is the report that I am suggesting needs to be modified. Do you still think I should separate the two items so they read:

Enable the course access report to show when a new quiz is submitted.

Enable the course access report to show when an item is first accessed.

It seems that the one idea is to modify the course access report.

Thank you for your attention to the matter,

Steve Pipitone

Hi @spipitone -

Yes, I think the division would be helpful, especially because the items could be added separately and independent of the other. Thank you for the follow-up message!
