When I post an announcement in Canvas, it gives me the option of allowing students to comment on it. I always say no. However, when I read through the Announcement, I get to the end and Canvas puts in a statement that says: This topic is closed for comments. It seems a bit rude. like the instructor does not appreciate comments. It also implies that comments were once open and the student missed the opportunity to comment, and they are now closed.
Change the wording, possible options: Commenting has not been enabled for this announcement. This announcement is for information only, comments have not been enabled.
