What has been your experience with high-enrollment courses?

Hey Canvas Admins! We're looking at a request for a course that would function as a communication tool/information portal for all of our HS students. With ~20,000 students plus their parents enrolled as observers, we're looking at a course enrollment number we've never encountered before. Is anyone else using institution-wide courses with high enrollment numbers like these? I'm sure the gradebook wouldn't load, but we wouldn't be using that feature. Would these numbers break the course if we were primarily using Pages and Announcements?

In my experience, you'd be fine if you weren't using Gradebook or People. We had a student onboarding course at one time that had 30,000+ people in it, and there was really no issue with it beyond those two aspects I mentioned.
