Can a stylus pen be used when writing comments on student papers in the speedgrader?

Hey Angela,
We do have some stylus support: "Stylus functionality is supported for any user who can access DocViewer. Support is provided for the Microsoft Surface Pro running Windows 10 using the Chrome or Edge browser. Stylus support is limited to Bamboo Ink and any stylus officially supported by Microsoft for the Surface Pro. Limited stylus compatibility is also available in the Firefox browser."

Thank you, Michael! Are there plans to make the stylus function available to other 2-in-1's like Lenovo's Yoga? If so, do you have an anticipated timeline for availability? From a teaching/grading perspective, this function would be EXTREMELY helpful in speeding up the grading and commenting process in Canvas and shouldn't be limited to Surface Pro users.
Thank you, again, for your help!
I'm using Intuos by waicom and it interacts with the speedgrader pen annotation tool, but there is an annoying checkmark and box that appears when you make the first mark. If you don't click the check, nothing saves. This adds to the clunkiness when using any stylus. I really hope that future Canvas upgrades enhance stylus functionality in the Speedgrader section.
I have a surface Pro. I think you are wrong that this is solved for that device.
Our university just switched from BlackBoard to Canvas. It took BlackBoard too long to give stylus support, but they finally had it. Now I'm back to practically inoperable pen input. Grading 2 page reports is taking me FOREVER and my writing looks like a kindergardner's. Pen input is not a new computer technology. You know that teachers and professors will be doing grading of essays. Why do you have a pen icon if yo didn't expect it? Making a transition from one platform to another is difficult enough. Now this just another insult. I am not impressed and am incredibly frustrated.
Yes, the little checkmark and box are so annoying that it is simply unusable.
Please, Canvas, put this on your to-do list.
I cannot use Speedgrader with my professional Wacom Intuos pad+stylus, so this makes it useless, unforrtunately. I have to download and grade on Notability or other application and then somehow upload,. Please please please fix this to make Speedgrader useful for the growing number of us used to smooth stylus use1
Here I am on March 2023 just to say: Canvas couldn't care less about our comments and suggestions. I really hope that they disappear from the market. They truly deserve it.
