SpeedGrader - Single Student View

Is there a way to use the speedgrader to quickly toggle between an individual student's various assignments rather than toggle between students for a single assignment? I feel like this feature would come in handy. I tried searching in the community for either features ideas or discussion threads but I'm coming up with nothing. stefaniesanders‌

I can envision accomplishing this with existing functionality by accessing the student’s submissions through the Gradebook (leave the Gradebook open in a tab, locate the student’s row, go across the row to scan for submissions, open the Grade Detail Tray to access SpeedGrader for that assignment, right-click...then repeat by student).

While this solution is a good start, it is very limited because I can't actually "speed-grade" through individual student work this way. I have to open multiple windows (every single assignment) to grade the student's work. It is a very slow and cumbersome process, especially if several students decide to get caught up several weeks after an assignment is due. This could be fixed either by adding an assignment preview to the sidebar when you click an assignment OR by creating a speedgrader specifically for individual students.

For example, I see a student has turned in 10 late assignments. It would be nice to click the student's name, open a speedgrader just for that student's assignments, and click grade all of their work in one window rather than opening 10 different windows.

I do not see why this problem is marked as solved given that the proposed solution has not been implemented 8 years later given that it was proposed in 2015.

Good morning, @MariahBirgen ...

As you've probably seen, the idea [SpeedGrader] Ability to move through all assignments for one student in speedgrader is part of a larger Idea and Theme called .  You might want to follow those links so that you can stay up-to-date if/when this would be implemented in Canvas.  The document How do Ideas and Themes work in the Instructure Community? is also a good read.

If you feel that the response from @Stef_retired is not a solution to this question, you should be able to hover over the three dot kebab icon next to her response, and there should be an option to unmark it as a solution.
