Missing Profile Menu in "On-Premise LMS"

I dont know if I'm in the right place to ask this question, just done configuring the on-premise CANVAS LMS... I just want to know if there's a difference between the on-premise and SaaS features of Canvas? Coz, I cannot find the PROFILE menu on my newly setup server (notification, file, settings, eportfolio) only, while in canvas.intructure.com there's this profile menu where you can edit your profile picture... Can anyone help me on this?

I am not sure of an answer for you, but I wanted to let you know that I have shared your question with the Canvas Developers‌ group here in the Community in hopes that your question will get some additional exposure.  If you are not yet following this group, click on the link I've provided, and you'll see two buttons at the top right corner of the screen..."Follow" and "Actions" >> "Join group".  I hope this will be of help to you...good luck!  Be well, and stay safe!

There are differences between Instructure-hosted and self-hosted / open source versions. This page explains what they are: FAQ · instructure/canvas-lms Wiki · GitHub 

Profiles aren't listed as not being open source.

I would start with Admin > Settings > User Avatars (you need to scroll down a lot to find it) and make sure that's enabled. Thanks go to  @Chris_Hofer  for sharing the location 2 years ago in https://community.canvaslms.com/thread/23489-how-do-i-enable-profile-pictures-and-course-images  I was looking for "profile" not thinking to look for "avatar."

If that doesn't do it, I'm educated-guessing about the rest of this. Some of the Canvas functionality is not under the main branch and are separate repositories on GitHub. I don't run the open source version and don't know specifically how to enable it. Sometimes it's a configuration option (I think we had to have our Canvas CSM turn them on for us), other times you can go to Admin > Settings > Feature Options and enable something, and sometimes you have to install additional repositories.

Thank you James for leading me to that option, however, when I tried to upload a photo it prompted "Profile photo save failed too many times" but when I checked the Files, particularly the profile picture folder and viola! theres the uploaded picture file.. But sadly it doesn't show up in the Avatar in the profile page.
