Is there a way to grade each assignment question individually?

I teach a class containing many calculation-based homework assignments, and often subsequent questions are based on the answers from previous questions. A comment I have gotten from students is that they find it frustrating that when they get a question wrong, then all their following answers are wrong. Is there a way to grade an assignment in such a way that each question is graded before the next is asked (without having the questions be completely separate assignments)?
