I need to access student homework papers from Spring 2018. They are no longer available through my gradebook. How can I access them?

I want to use student work for research and assessment purposes. How can I access their papers from the Spring 2018 semester for comparison to the Spring 2019 semester's work?

 @nvantyne ‌, do you still have access to the Spring 2018 course? I just navigated to one of my old courses that has been concluded and placed in a read-only status, and I was still able to navigate to each assignment and click on Download Submissions (https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13086-415255025 ) If you no longer have access to the Spring 2018 course, you will need to contact your local Canvas admin for further assistance.
