How do I insert 'back' and 'next' buttons to navigate between pages

You will need to organize pages within a module, then the 'next' and 'previous' will automatically appear when users access the pages via Modules. Here is the guide on using Modules: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12937-4152322062

So I imported my courses from another teacher and the "next"/"previous"  buttons are already there.. How Can I get rid of them?

You can also add an image, a button, or the text "next" and then link it to whatever page you want, it doesn't have to be in the module.  Enter your "item/text" that you want to be the hyperlink, highlight it and select your page you want it to link to.
