Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Is it possible in the Attendance module to mark someone as having an 'excused' absence or at least leave comments re: attendance?

gorloff, unfortunately no and no. Attendance in Canvas is kinda of limited. You could use badges in Attendance to designate that someone was excused. It would be similar to this, but with a slightly different spin - Hacking Roll Call Attendance.
I hope this helps!

Hi, I feel that I used to be able to designate that the first 3 absences would not count against the final attendance grade. It seems from your earlier post about the Attendance tool being limited, that I can't. I've certainly looked. So do I need to look at the percentages for everyone (we used roll call tool), and manually take away the value of three absences?
thanks,

So far, I have found that unmarked acts as excused. I wish it was at least cross-labeled.
