Discussion not able to be viewed by students

I have added a discussion to my week 5 class.  I have had several students msg me that they cannot view it.  I don't know whatI am doing wrong....PLEASE HELP 😃

I see it as posted when I go in....however, when I log in as as student it is not there.  Correct dates are inputed, it is published, allowed comments. 

I do not know what I have done wrong.

To double-check a few things:

• On your "Discussions" index page of your course, is the topic published?  How do I publish or unpublish a discussion as an instructor?
• On your "Modules" index page, do you have the topic added to a module in your course?  If so, is the module published?  How do I publish or unpublish a module as an instructor?
• Are the dates and other settings that you set for your discussion topic correct?  How do I create a discussion as an instructor?
• Do the dates that you set for your discussion topic fall within the range of your course start/end date?  How do I change the start and end dates for a course?
• Do you have any prerequisites or requirements set for the module that would prevent your students from seeing the Discussion topic?
