Commons materials after Canvas account deletion?

If someone leaves an institution (and their account is disabled or deleted in Canvas) what happens to the materials they've hosted in Commons?

Hi  @abunag 

Commons content is not tied to a user beyond identifying the source of the content, and tracking subsequent revisions of the content.

If you leave Canvas today, and please don't, your content will likely persist forever. Of course, you could delete your authored content, but we hope you dont't!

Now, why the inquiry? Are you leaving all things Canvas, Sir?

Nope, not me.  But we have a staff member that is leaving our University that was wanting to make sure the materials they had sent to Commons for our faculty would remain available, or would need to be re-uploaded by someone else.  I had made the assumption the materials would remain, but wanted to confirm.

They've moving from staff with us to a faculty member with a different Canvas institution, so it's a good thing all around.

I'm actually switching institutions and would like people to still be able to use the materials I created, so this was a very helpful response!
