Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I have a teacher who had three essay questions for a section exam. The quiz was created in Quizzes.Next and each question was to be worth 20 pts. He accidentally marked the last question as 1 pt. and didn't realize his mistake until some students had already submitted their answers.
He was able to change the points value of the question for those students who had not taken the exam, but we're not finding any solutions for adjusting the total points value of the exam for the students who have submitted.
Good morning, Quentin! I do not believe that you are able to change the point values if they've taken the quiz. However, check out this site and see if the answer is there.
Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I did the same thing this morning with the test I gave.
Hello @qstarks ...
I am reviewing some of the older questions here in the Canvas Community, and I stumbled upon your question. I wanted to check in with you because I noticed that we have not heard back from you since you first posted your question on April 9, 2019. I am hoping that, by now, you've been able to get this issue resolved. And, if you feel that one of the above replies from either @9927744 or @epadhi has helped to answer your question, please feel free to click on the "Mark Correct" button next to one of their responses. But, if you are still looking for some help from Community members, please let us know that as well by posting a note below. For the time being, I am going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered" (How we keep your questions flowing!) because we have not heard back from you in 11 months and because there hasn't been any new activity in this topic since mid-September 2019. However, that won't prevent you or others from posting additional questions and/or comments below that are related to this topic. I hope that's okay with you, Quinten. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
I don't think this question has been answered, unless the answer really is "No, you can't."
I am having the same problem. I created a test where the essay question should weigh more than the others. After changing the point value in the quiz for all questions, the only point values that changed in SpeedGrader were those other than the essay question (making it now less weighty than before. So I'll have to change it back). I would greatly benefit from being able to change the point values for any question even after the test has been administered.
