Can I add images for matching questions?

Hello there @dhclark Welcome to the Canvas Community, and thanks for posting your question. In my own testing, it doesn't appear that this can be done in either the current quizzing engine or the new Quizzes.Next quizzing engine. However, I did find a few resources for you here in the Community that may be of help:
I know this may not be the exact answer your were hoping for, but hopefully the resources I've provided will be of some help to you. Thanks Daniel!

@The_Viking ...
I understand what you are saying. However, at this time there is not an option to add images to matching pairs in "Matching" question types...in either current Classic Quizzes or New Quizzes. (I just tested this again in my own sandbox course.) I do agree that being able to add images to "Matching" question types would be pretty neat, and I would support those who wanted to see it developed. My response was from back in early August 2018, and at that time, Instructure was using a different platform for Community content. It allowed you to mark answers as "Correct" (and you could only mark one response as "Correct" per discussion topic). In the Community platform that you and I are using now, it allows you to mark responses as "Solutions"...and more than one response can be marked as a "Solution". So, even though there may be a response that says, "No, this can't be done right now", or "No, this can't be done, but there's a work-around"...those are both "Solutions". If and when Instructure decides to implement adding images to "Matching" question types, then this topic could be updated with a different "Solution" marked other than my one from 2018. As it stands right now, my response from 2018 is near the top to let people know that this can't be done...so they don't have to look through several replies to find an answer.
Here are updated links from my reply back in 2018:
You can participate in the conversation using the second link I've provided...if you feel that Feature Idea is similar to what you'd like to see in Canvas. And FYI, there isn't really any new work being done on current Classic Quizzes...as Instructure is focusing their development time on New Quizzes.
I hope this will help to explain things a bit. Sing out if you have any other questions about this...thanks!
The multiple drop down question type is no longer an option in 2022. IS there a new solution?
Hi there, @MBStone ...
Check out New Quizzes Transition Toolkit - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com) ... specifically the linked comparison document on that page. On page 4 of the comparison document, it shows that Multiple Dropdown question types in Classic Quizzes has to use Fill In the Blank question types in New Quizzes.
How do I create a Fill in the Blank question in Ne... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
Hope this helps to answer your question. Sing out if you have any questions...thanks!
