Assigning Work to Some Students, not all

I want to assign "quizzes" to my some of my students as a way to provide more challenging questions to those who wish to have them. Is there are way that I can do that without having to go through an excuse the assignment for those who are not participating in the challenge questions?

Welcome to the Canvas Community!!!

Yes, you have the ability to chose which students can see which Quizzes, Assignments or Discussions.  When editing a quiz you will notice that there is an Assign area at the bottom.  Follow the directions here How do I assign a quiz to an individual student?

Hi Dana,

Yes, exactly that - create a section, add the students who you want to give the quizzes to and then set the quiz to be assigned to that section.  Just FYI you can create as many sections as you want and students can be assigned to more than one.

You may or may not be able to create sections in your courses.  It depends on the permissions that are set by our Canvas Administrator.

It turns out that I can't create sections, but my administrator is going to do it for me.
