[ARCHIVED] what does the "waiting on canvas" error mean?

Student attempting to access an open exam, but screen just keeps saying "waiting for Canvas". This has happened to student multiple times over the last week.

Several of my students also got this error when trying to access an exam. Restarting Chrome worked for all but one of them. A point of caution though -- If you're using Proctorio, you must have it set to allow reentry in the case of a lost connection.
