Can I remove or at least hide the test student from gradebook?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @rn4moms
Yes, yes you can, and it is quite easy! I seldom bother, because I am the only one who sees this student, and HeSheIt is always at the bottom of the grade book. You do this by going to the Sections tab in Settings, scrolling down to Test Student, and deleting them.

Now did that make your Friday, or what?!?

Hey @kmeeusen , I'm trying to find out how I can add Test Student to courses that don't have it. I'm an admin and have been a teacher. All of my own courses always had it. Please tell me where to turn it on for all courses. Thanks!
The test student is automatically added when you click on Student View from within the course.
You may want to consider if you want it on for all courses, though. It's not a particularly friendly animal to play with and many faculty would wish it wasn't there.
Hi @tamychapman
Fortunately, adding the test student is even easier than removing one - simply click on "Student View" from Home Page or People, and whammo-zammo you have created the test student in that course.
I see that @James beat me to the punch, so I will add that he is absolutely correct. Almost all faculty know how to add it to their course, or add it accidentally when using student view; however, most also wish it would go away and that is where we get the most questions about it in this community.
Kelley
Ah great help! So the instructors who've never looked at student view don't have a test student. Got it! Thanks Kelley and James.
YEARS OF AGGRAVATION-- solved in less that 5 seconds.
You're the absolute best!
