[ARCHIVED] "Unauthorized" Message when trying to open syllabus

I am trying to access the syllabus for one of my classes in Canvas and I receive the message of  "unauthorized" I have tried a few different computers and my phone but I get the same message every time. I tried contacting the professor but he said no one else is having this problem. I've tried logging out of canvas and closing the browser but I am still getting that message.

Hello  @cynthiameadows ...

The "unauthorized" message may mean that your instructor has incorrectly linked a document from another course in the course that you are taking.  If this is the case, it would make sense that you couldn't access the file from your course...because you wouldn't have access to that other course...since you're not enrolled in it.  It's always a good idea for instructors to check their course for broken links, and your instructor may have forgotten to do that in this case.  I would recommend that your instructor follow the steps outlined in this Guide: How do I validate links in a course?
