Generally speaking if you are using your institution/school's Canvas instance, your Canvas Admin would need to make the change for you. The reason for this is it would tie closely to how many institutions manage the username and password.
Your Canvas Admin could do this through the Admin --> People section in their Admin dashboard, and I would also note that they should also look to update the notification email address also as that is easy to miss.
