[ARCHIVED] Undo the Deleted Items

Not really a questions but more a need: When I am in Canvas creating a table or just typing on a page and I need to copy and paste a section elsewhere and if I hit the backspace button by accident or delete the highlighted info, there is no way for me to undo the action. I would like Canvas to install a back button in the tool bar similar to Photoshop, Illustrator...maybe up to five back if needed. If there is a button/action somewhere I do not know about in Canvas if anyone could point me to it I'd appreciate it.

Hi,  @acasey1  Welcome to the Canvas Community! The New Rich Content Editor has an Undo feature in the Edit section of the menubar. You'll need to use the keyboard shortcut Alt+F9 (or on my Macbook, it's fn-opt-F9) to reveal the menubar, as it is hidden by default, but can easily be made visible.

In the old RCE (which many are still using), I found Undo in the Edit section of the menubar.

Thanks for the info. Not sure where the edit button is on the RCE version.

Here’s a pic of what I’m viewing on my Canvas page. I’ve gone through each one just to check but do not see an edit feature...I just had this table filled and was copying to paste and it erased the content. ( A pop up do you want to delete would be nice.)The right click mouse undo doesn’t work. Any more info would be great.

Yes, that's the old RCE that will still be in use for a few more months, Amanda. Use the keyboard shortcut to reveal the menubar and you will then see an Edit option displaying on the menu. Thanks again however all those options do not work for some reason on my desktop. Nothing appears or changes with any of the short cut keys...could be disabled in our district. Hoping we will get the newer version this summer to help with editing more. No worries and I will try it on my laptop and see if that helps.

No worries, Amanda. Try this: After launching edit mode in the RCE, click in the editor field itself, and then apply the keyboard shortcut (Alt+F9 works fine on a Windows keyboard, but on my Macbook Pro, I need to use fn+option+F9). That should reveal the menubar.

Fn+Option+F9 does not work for me either. Does anyone have a work around?
