[ARCHIVED] Turned in work that is not graded counts as a zero

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem on Canvas. I have students who turn in work and it is not graded, but Canvas is giving them zero credit for ungraded turned in work. For example, a student turned in three assignments. One is graded and has extra credit. The other two are submitted, but not graded. However, he percentage for that type of assignment is 60%. Does anyone know how to fix this?

This happens sometimes when assignments are submitted late.  The missing policy enters a zero when the due time passes, and the student submits later.  As the instructor you see an icon for grading (unless this is a new quiz) but the course total still uses the zero that has manually posted.  As the instructor, if you are not yet ready to grade, you can click on the box with the submission in the gradebook, and it will switch to displaying the zero.  You may delete the zero manually and the grade total will no longer count it as a zero while it is waiting to be graded.
