Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I have some teachers complaining about how some of their students submit assignments documents from their Google drive, and the teachers cannot see the submission unless they log into their own Google account & then the docs are all shared with them. Over time they accumulate many many shared assignment docs. Is there some setting in their assignments that they can modify to NOT allow any google drive submissions? The students can submit if they download their file & upload it straight into the assignment. OR is there some type of permission the student needs to add to the document in their drive, before submitting it? The teachers just don't want to have to log into Google & they don't want a bunch of shared files in their own drive.

Hello cbirdsong ! I'm so sorry that it's taken a while for someone to answer your question. Were you. or your teachers, able to find the answer? Whether you were or weren't, this guide should help you next time.
Best of luck!

This isn't a solution, as it does not address the specific problem (not being able to view gdocs and gslides)
I am having the same issue. When my students submit their google slides, which I created using the External Tool (Google Cloud), if I go in to grade the slides there is nothing there for me to grade.
I am also having this issue. It's only happening with a handful of students, though. Most work fine, but I've checked and they are all submitting the same way, through Google Drive. Almost everyone's just pops up in speed grader, ready to go. There a few students' submissions that I cannot see, however. Canvas has me click on it, like a download, but nothing comes up. If I'm on my Chromebook, I can click it and it will open the assignment and put it in my drive, which is of course annoying. Help!
