Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I added this idea to the Canvas Studio and wondered if anyone else might be interested in the same thing.

I can see advantages to using the syllabus tool and would like to use it in my courses, but I don't want my students skipping content and going directly to assignment and quiz links to try to complete those. For this same reason, I don't enable assignments and quizzes in my course and instead link to them on a content page at the end of material for a chapter or unit that students are supposed to read, complete, review before attempting activities and assessments. I'd love it if there was an option to make that list of assignments and quizzes on the syllabus tool a static list so that it was an outline of course activities but not clickable. Anyone else?
UPDATE: There was a similar topic up for vote that I had overlooked. My idea has been archived, but if you like this idea, please vote up https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/6601-option-to-exclude-assignments-from-syllabus" modifiedtitl....
Another way to look at this might be to place availability and due dates on assignments so that when students see that list it will say that the assignment is not available yet. Personally I would not want that list in the Syllabus section to be too static as it is a great way for students to see what is upcoming. I also eliminate the assignments access on the course navigation bar as I want them to concentrate on the flow of the modules.
