[ARCHIVED] Students self-check attendance

We have attendance tool where a teaher marks the presence or absence of a student.

Is it possible to integrate some additional tools to make it automatical? For example, if our institution has fingerprint scanner or QR scanner in the class and if they pass these scanners they will be automatically marked in Canvas

Canvas doesn't have a built in way to do this but there might be a 3rd party tool which will.  One that I am slightly familiar with is the Qwickly Attendance tool Qwickly Attendance | Blackboard, Canvas and D2L Brightspace Attendance and Participation Tracking wi... .  I've seen demos and heard good things, but have not actually used it.
