Pear Deck was adopted by my district and the app is automatically added to all of our classes. It worked like a charm during December and January 2020-2021. Suddenly, any time I assign a Pear Deck through Canvas, students are receiving an error message stating they need an access code to view the Pear Deck, but I can't find any access codes in the Pear Deck sessions generated by Canvas. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Our district IT support determined that the problem was related to the default email address connected to students' Canvas profiles. The solution is to make sure that each student has their district email address set as their default Canvas email. They can have additional emails linked to the their Canvas profile, but the default needs to be their district email. I believe it has to do with the restrictions our district implemented with accessing educational apps that we use, like Google Apps, Pear Deck, etc.
