[ARCHIVED] Student Annotations for Math/Reading? "Show your work"

How does a teacher create a Math assignment where the student will be able to solve AND show their work? Where the teacher can check how they came to that answer.

Or, how does a teacher create a Reading assignment where the student can underline the verb and highlight the noun? Where the teacher can go back and check what they did.

Canvas has the tool in the apps, but I haven't found a way to create that assignment. I can make that happen when I "Add File," and the student Edit tool is available in the mobile Apps (but not through the browser).

What are teachers doing for the younger students work where they require more than just the final answer?
