Previously students had graded discussions in class.  With social distancing, is there a way for students to have a recorded online discussion that can be submitted to the teacher for viewing/grading?

Hi Faith -

I think you could do this with a traditional group assignment. Within the instructions, you could set the expectations for the conversation and the file-sharing directions. With that, only one student in the group would need to submit the activity. You could also decide whether or not all members of the group receive the same score for their participation.

While it wouldn't be under the Discussions tab in the course navigation, you could still use Assignment Groups to weight the activity appropriately in your course.
