Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
I am using the Studio- Quiz function for my students to take a quiz as they watch a video. I can see their grades as they complete the quiz on the quiz itself, but the grades are not showing up in my gradebook. I have read a bunch of articles but have not found the solution to my problem. Please help. #gradebook problems #studioquizzes

The problem was not in the steps but viewing myself as a user. It's been resolved, thank you to everyone who helped!
When you create the assignment, instead of embedding the video in the directions, you need to select "external tool" in the 'Submission Type'. When I do this, students haven't been able to complete the assignment (watch the video or answer questions) past the due date, but I have submitted a Q&A on this, hopefully I will hear back.
This question seems to be answered in another question: Quizzes not recorded in grade book
Hi there, rebmyers...
In addition to the helpful information you've received from @ahenschel Thank You, there is also this Guide to take a look at: How do I post Canvas Studio video quiz results in the Gradebook?.
I hope this extra bit of information will be of help to you, Rebecca. Let Community members know if you have any questions about this...thanks!
Hi,
Thanks for all the feedback. I have tried all of the above resources to no avail . I made the video through Studio. I created a video quiz. I added it to Modules as an Assignment. I clicked on the assignment link and embedded the Studio video inside the rich content editor and made sure that I slid over the bar to "upload with embedded quiz". I see the quiz title in the Gradebook but no grade.
Hello rebmyers...
I think you might be missing a step. As @ahenschel mentioned (and as the Guide I linked to suggests), you need to select the "External Tool" option for your assignment instead of embedding the Studio video in the RCE (Rich Content Editor). See the section in the Guide that I linked to on "Add Assignment Details" and the info below it. You can still include any directions in the RCE, but you will not be embedding the Studio video in the RCE.
Does that help to answer your question?
I tried that also but it still didn't work. So instead of loading it through the content rich editor, I skipped that box and scrolled down to the external tool submission and used Studio. It put the video in there and I took the quiz again and did not get the results in the gradebook again. I wonder if the problem is with using myself as a test student? I might get one of my students to try it instead.
@Rebecca Myers My colleague and I tried this in a sandbox course before posting a studio quiz assignment in our classes and it didn't show up in the gradebook under test student either. I would go for it. You will still be able to view the insights if things don't go as planned.
