I am grading a Canvas Quiz. The quiz contained several essay questions.
A student made the following comment while I was grading the quiz: "Is it an April Fool's joke to make us watch our grades incrementally go up?"
I did not know that students would be receiving notifications as I would grade one of their essays.
How do I mute such notifications so that no notice is given until I have fully graded all of the quizzes? I grade a question at a time for a class of 22 students. Apparently they were getting notice as I graded each essay.

You can't change student notifications, but you can essentially "mute" the assignment until you are done grading all of them. Then....they will see their grades. It used to be easier to do in the assignment itself, but a recent change with the new gradebook forces you to go to the policy of the assignment and switch to manual. You could also change the settings of the assignment/quiz itself to keep those grades hidden. I hope this helps!
