Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Free online, Image Slider Maker. Packs all needed files up into a Zip file. The HTML needs some doctoring, but could then be imported into a Canvas page via an iframe, by first Uploading and Unpacking the Zip file. A simpler slider, but can include image captions and links.
Works well on a Chromebook.
Great find!! Is this responsive or can code be added to make slider responsive?
Gail
It does have a "Responsive" switch that adds coding.
I unzipped the HTML file ("example") and removed the extra coding so that only the slider appeared and added the HTML file back to the Zipped file. Then Upload and Unpack. You can also give each slider a unique ID, so that you can put more than one on a page (if desired). *I said above that it was a "simpler" slider, but the more I played with the various options, the less simple it became.
It looks really good on a page, with image zoom and image thumbnail progress markers.

Not sure how many of these would work in Canvas. Most, maybe all, require JS & CSS files to be accessible from somewhere.

A couple of examples of the image sliders that were zipped up, with all necessary files and uploaded into Canvas and Unpacked. *I also tried copying the course to a new one, and the paths for these sliders were updated to the new course. *Did not break, or point back to old site.
Hi Bill! Would you happen to have a demo video on how to do this? Thank you!
For the Image Slider Maker, you just add your images and make the various selections. Then download the zipped file. When you go to Upload the zipped file, choose to have Canvas Unpack it for you and it will put everything in the necessary place.
