Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Hi,
I am designing and ESL course and students for my university report having issues uploading video from the rich content editor. It often will stall and not complete. Is this something I would need to have admins look at on the back end?
Alternatively, are there other Canvas plugins/Apps or resources that would work for submitting video responses or in discussions even for an oral communications class?
Hope all of you with experience can help me with this one.
Thanks!
Hi @theelephant -
How are assignments asking for submissions? Media Submissions could be easier than utilizing the Rich Content Editor.
The Canvas Student app streamlines the process even further. How do I submit a media file as an assignment submission in the Student app on my iOS device?
Other options would be to ask students to submit a URL to a video they save in Google Drive/Dropbox or unlisted in YouTube. That way, they can be reassured that their work is safe and won't be lost during an upload. It also reduces the amount that is saved in the user's file storage.
A different type of activity you could consider is the integration of FlipGrid (www.flipgrid.com). It's free and works really well with Canvas assignments. Students read, hear, or view a prompt and then record video responses. These responses can be moderated or available to the class.
