Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
Hi all,
We used to have SCORM on Blackboard and not Canvas any more. My question is :
- Do we have to pay to get this tool into Canvas?
- Saw this link and it doesn't say anything about how to get the tool as LTI
How do I import SCORM files as an assignment?
Thanks

Hi @qnguyen ,
If I remember correctly, we had to contact our CSM and they enabled the LTI. After it has been enabled at the account level, instructors can enable it in the course navigation.
Oh bless your patience, @powellj . Is there a fancy, fast, API-call'ish way to do this or is it as painfully individualized upload process as I'm hoping it's not...

We just had it turned on by our CSM last month, @qnguyen . Easy and overnight. From my understanding SMORM content in Canvas does not travel with a course export or copy process, so hold onto your SCORM packets in case you need to do something like this in the future. I could be wrong but just in case -- better safe than sorry. Hope this helps.
Nope, you're not wrong. We create new course shells each semester, and in all of our courses that use SCORM, we have to re-load them in every time. I've confirmed with Instructure that they are hoping to resolve this in the future, but it will be a while if it happens. One specific course we run uses 34 separate SCORM files and it's my job to re-load them every time. Yay!

That's how we did it except we enabled at the account level, everyone has it available in the menu.
