Celebrate Excellence in Education: Nominate Outstanding Educators by April 15!
We have been using Canvas for 5 years and now it is a time for us to think about clearing our system from old courses. Instructors and Students started complaining about the long list of ALL COURSES and asking to remove some. Copying and searching courses also became more cumbersome. We also trying to avoid exceeding the total space quota.
Could you please share how you deal with this process? What are your policies? Do you delete courses from the system? How long you keep them before removing them from the system? Is it possible to permanently remove them from Canvas and if it is, do you archive them first in bulk or have instructors to make their own archive? It would be great to hear about the best practices in archiving, hiding, and deleting old courses on account level. Thank you.
We keep courses that are up to two years old. We haven't mass deleted for awhile, but we had a tech guy write a script that deleted an entire Term's courses so we could then delete the Term. This person has since left the district so I am looking for solutions as well.
