[ARCHIVED] How does a teacher select the option to hide the averages but not assignment grades?

From a teacher:

"Students have been telling me that my canvas course hides he grades of assignments, unless they individually open them. this, i understood, is not the same as hiding the average. I would like to change that, how can I do that, please?"

When initially glancing at the teacher's course navigation settings, I am seeing that "Grades" is hidden from the students.  Perhaps this has something to do with it?

rpsimon‌, yes, that is the most likely reason: when the Grades tab is hidden, students cannot access all of their grades, and must access each one individually. Ask the instructor to use the instructions in How do I manage Course Navigation links? to make the Grades tab visible to students.
